Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the things people most often ask about The Burrito Project.
What is The Burrito Project?
The Burrito Project is a Los Angeles-based volunteer collective that prepares and distributes burritos to the unhoused community of downtown LA. We are a starting point and a new perspective on community and personal responsibility — not a band-aid to the homeless problem.
How do I volunteer?
Fill out the volunteer sign-up form. We'll reach out with details about our next monthly gathering — when to arrive, what to bring, and where we'll meet.
How do I donate?
You can donate through Square, Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal. Every dollar buys tortillas, beans, rice, and the ingredients that go into the burritos we share each month.
Where does The Burrito Project operate?
We prepare meals in the greater Los Angeles area and distribute them in downtown Los Angeles, including Skid Row.
How do I start my own chapter?
Visit our Start a Chapter page and send us a message. We've been inspired by others before us, and we hope our mission jump-starts your sense of charity in your own city.
Is The Burrito Project a registered nonprofit?
The Burrito Project operates as a community collective. Please contact us directly for the most current information regarding our organizational status.
